A note from our President : Randall Linton

Ever since I joined the The Rotary Club of North York in 1991, the year the club was chartered, I've been an active and proud member. I was the club's second new member after Dr. John Ramage, who beat me by one month!

This year, I am serving as club president for the fourth time, a position I first held back in 2003-2004, and then again during the COVID years: 2020 to 2022.

I am the co-owner of two family-owned contract maintenance companies here in Toronto, with each company providing a variety of services to corporate offices, condominiums and retail stores across Canada.

Outside of business and Rotary, I have enjoyed serving the community in a variety of ways. I’ve enjoyed investing in the lives of younger generations, from teaching Sunday School, and leading church youth groups and College and Careers, to coaching basketball and mentoring  young leaders, through a ministry called Youth Unlimited.

In addition to the honour of leading our Rotary Club, I serve on the boards of Water Ambassadors Canada, the West Lansing Homeowners Association, and am a former board member of The Canadian MPS Society. Together with Elisabeth, my wife and fellow Rotarian, we are the co-founders and directors of The Sanfilippo Children’s Research Foundation,

I’ve received the recognition of several industry and humanitarian awards. These include, ConnexFM Canadian Excellence Award, The ICS Ralph Bloss Humanitarian Award,  The Toronto Marathon Human Spirit Award, and The Floorcovering Institute of Ontario’s Humanitarian and Industry Leadership Award. One of my biggest honours was receiving my first of three, Rotary International’s prestigious, Paul Harris Fellowship Award, with Elisabeth, in 2005.

My hobbies include downhill skiing, biking, reading, writing, golf, hockey, travel, long walks, puttering at the cottage and curled up with Lis and a bowl of popcorn watching a favorite TV series or movie. My greatest joy in life has been being a dad to three children and grandpa to my five grandchildren.

I hope to meet you sometime during my year as I serve our community and the wonderful members of our amazing club.
